Maron stability tester
Coat/Calender/Print / Mechanical stability
  • No.2312-I
  • [JIS]K-6392-1995
  • [TAPPI]
  • [ISO]
As latex is subject to various mechanical impacts while it goes through processes such as transport, mixing, agitation and coating, it needs to have enough stability to withstand those impacts. For example, latex receives great shearing stress in making and application of latex paint as it is mixed with pigment paste, agitated and applied on paper as latex paint. It also receives shearing force in paper converting in the processes of adding pigments and coating, and in fiber processing, in the drawing process. When given great kinetic energy through mechanical impacts, latex particles contact and fuse with each other to form aggregates, overcoming inter-particle potential energy barriers. Emergence of these aggregates in fiber processing fails the expected function of latex. Resistance of latex against mechanical impacts is referred to as mechanical stability, which is one important characteristic of latex. This machine is a mechanical stability tester for synthetic rubber latex that measures the mass of the coagulum content generated in specimen latex. When testing, it applies shearing force on specimen latex with its rotor revolving under a certain load.
Maron stability tester (with a stepless speed change device)
Coat/Calender/Print / Mechanical stability
  • No.2312-II
  • [JIS]K-6392-1995
  • [TAPPI]
  • [ISO]
This tester incorporates a servo motor that enables stepless speed change, allowing measurement under a broad range of conditions. A digital display system is used for its platform scale, enabling various conditions to be digitized.
With motor of 1kW, three-phase 200/220VAC.
Heat seal tester
Coat/Calender/Print / Heat seal/Press
  • No.2348
  • [JIS]
  • [TAPPI]
  • [ISO]
Heat seal tests on plastic films and laminated materials determine the strength and other characteristics of a specimen's heat-sealed section. For that purpose, heat-sealed specimens must be fabricated first. This tester provides flexible setting of the heat seal conditions, including the heating bar temperature, pressure and pressurizing time, helping fabricate specimens easily in a laboratory.
Seal press tester
Coat/Calender/Print / Heat seal/Press
  • No.2375
  • [JIS]
  • [TAPPI]
  • [ISO]
When evaluating workability, including embossing fitness, of paper for crepe paper, towel paper, etc., conventional press-based equipment has drawbacks in that pressure or temperature cannot be set meticulously. With this tester, embossing fitness of specimens can be evaluated against the seal strength needed for paper towel's wrap-around seal section, for example, or for coffee filter's sealed section on the edges. Also, this tester enables to identify the required strength by applying different pressure, temperature and humidity settings and checking the behavior of the sealed sections. To serve the above purpose, the tester incorporates a pressurizing bar with a set of concave and convex-shaped teeth members and a large-sized air cylinder to press the bar down on the specimen. It can operate with a pressure up to 6300 kg and a heating temperature up to 150 °C. In addition, a safety mechanism is employed to allow pressurizing operation to take place only when the operator uses both hands to press the start switch.
Blister pack tester
Coat/Calender/Print / Blister pack
  • No.2380
  • [JIS]
  • [TAPPI]
  • [ISO]
As packaging technology advances and expands the scope of plastics application, we see a considerable number of blister-packed products in the market. A blister-pack approach represents a system where products are inserted in concave sections called "cell" to be processed through a blister-packing machine, and then a unit of those concave sections are heat-pressed onto a board already applied with adhesive and punched out or cut off to be finished. In this approach, however, factors including poor quality of adhesive and inappropriate pressure/temperature have been causing problems such as peeling off. This tester can provide effective solutions for preventing those problems. Dies used with this tester are fabricated according to the shape of the product subject to packaging.
